An adventure for Mike’s glasses
Mike’s glasses have just returned from a winter adventure. They were previously last seen hanging around the neck of Mike Ewing during a working session back in March at the Dutch Inn site in south Cottesloe.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers AA Team!
Following a successful day with the Cottesloe Coast Care team a few weeks prior, 27 new fresh faced volunteers from PwC set out to emulate the achievements of the mighty “A1 Planting Team”.

Woodside works!
We had a great team from Woodside on Friday who came with CVA (Conservation Volunteers Australia) for a day’s planting at Dutch Inn near the south groyne.

Our planting season is going really well – particularly so because of the fantastic teams we had join us last week – Conservation Volunteers Australia (sponsored by Woodside – thank you Woodside!), the V Gang from UWA and a fantastic team from Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
V day for UWA students
A group of UWA students gave their time to Cottesloe Coastcare as their volunteer commitment. We are in the middle of our annual planting effort so we really appreciated the group’s enthusiasm and excellent work.
CCA & UWA students join forces
UWA Student’s and Cottesloe Coastcare ioin Forces on the 21st of February. Residents from the University of Western Australia’s Trinity College joined with volunteers from the Cottesloe Coastcare Association and Coastcare officers Kate and Sharon to carry out rehabilitation works at Vlamingh Memorial in Cottesloe.
Sea monsters, breweries, typhoid and our AGM!
Did you know that: a “sea monster” washed up on Cottesloe beach in 1931; that Aitken’s brewery opened in South Cottesloe in 1897; and seven people caught typhoid after drinking milk from a Cottesloe dairy?

Luise Bussert is a Communication Design Student at Potsdam University, Berlin, Germany. She recently had a 4 month internship at Art Gallery of WA as part of her studies. We appreciated her help with Coastcare work.
The fishing line menace
It’s holiday time and (sustainable) fishing is part of holiday fun. But please remember a few important points when you are fishing. Our wildlife, in the water and in the air are killed, inadvertently, in large numbers each year, by people fishing.
