Woodside works!

We had a great team from Woodside on Friday who came with CVA (Conservation Volunteers Australia) for a day’s planting at Dutch Inn near the south groyne. After a demonstration by Mike of “deep hole digging” they joined in with enthusiasm and planted the last 400 of our seedlings for this year.

The area had previously been covered with a large patch of Victorian tea tree which was gradually overcoming the native plants on the site. Brett and the team from the depot had removed a large swathe of the invasive weed and prepared the site for us. By day’s end all the plants were in, watered and mulched.

Many thanks to the Woodside team for choosing to spend their day helping us restore the native vegetation to our foreshore – they certainly lived up to the slogan on their t-shirts – “living energy”!
