Sea monsters, breweries, typhoid and our AGM!
Did you know that:
- a “sea monster” washed up on Cottesloe beach in 1931,
- that Aitken’s brewery opened in South Cottesloe in 1897,
- and seven people caught typhoid after drinking milk from a Cottesloe dairy?
These and other interesting stories are all to be found in the rich collection of old newspapers, photos and maps now available to everyone on the web.
Sue Freeth will explore some of these digital resources after our AGM on Thursday 10th May 2012 6.30 pm in the Community Room at The Grove.
We’d love to see you there and we hope you will be able to join us for drinks and nibbles afterwards.
