V day for UWA students
V day is not Valentines in May…. but Volunteer’s day.
A group of UWA students gave their time to Cottesloe Coastcare as their volunteer commitment. We are in the middle of our annual planting effort so we really appreciated the group’s enthusiasm and excellent work.
Sally, co-ordinator extraordinaire sent this posting below, for our blog.
” It was a beautiful sunny day when seven UWA students headed to Cottesloe Beach, to help Cottesloe Coastcare Association with a dune revegetation project. Joining other volunteers from PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the UWA students got right into it, enthusiastically watering, digging holes and planting local natives such as spinifex,fan-flower, knotted club rush and cushion bush.
It was a fantastic opportunity to get our hands dirty, meet other volunteers and assist in protecting our fragile coastline. After spending so much time indoors studying, all the students had a fantastic experience volunteering out in the sun, and all agreed to bring our bathers with us next time! Thanks to Robyn and the team from Cottesloe Coastcare Association for hosting UWA Guild Volunteering Hub volunteers”.
