Walking not weeding

We keep very busy hand weeding at our project sites in the springtime. Again this year I organised a bush walk for Cottesloe Coastcare volunteers as a fun change from getting together only to toil among the weeds!

Welcome to Alex

Photo monitoring

Frauke recently went on a tour with the Northern Agricultural Catchments Council  and saw how others are using photo monitoring to record  the processes that are potentially damaging to our coast. She visited some of the sites where photo monitoring is happening including Grigson’s Lookout near Jurien Bay, Thirsty Point and Seabird.

Coastcare – from fact to fiction

Sally’s recent novel ‘Stella’s Sea’ has an environmental bent and it includes lovely observations of our beautiful local landscape. Cottesloe Coastcare features in the book.

Frauke – our Citizen of the Year

We are delighted that Frauke Chambers has been recognised as the Cottesloe Citizen of the Year for 2014. The award was announced at the Australia Day Ceremony held at the Cottesloe Civic Centre on a balmy Sunday morning.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers to the rescue!

On Monday 22nd January a group of enthusiastic people from Pricewaterhouse Coopers joined CCA volunteers for a working bee. It was a hot morning but we achieved a great deal and perhaps rescued some of the very stressed small plants by giving them a big drink.

Party time and thanks to Greg

2013 has been a busy and successful year for Cottesloe Coastcare. Our Chairman, Mike Ewing briefly spoke about the achievements of the year at our recent Christmas party – held on the main lawn at our beautiful Civic Centre.
