The A1 planting team from Pricewaterhouse Coopers

Our planting season is going really well – particularly so because of the fantastic teams we had join us last week – Conservation Volunteers Australia (sponsored by Woodside – thank you Woodside!), the V Gang from UWA and a fantastic team from Pricewaterhouse Coopers. It was a full-on week of excellent work -weeding, planting and watering in new plants. We have 2000 plants in the ground now!

Johnny- Ray of Pricewaterhouse Coopers sent the post below:

“On Friday the 18th of May 2012, an energetic group from PwC teamed up with the Cottesloe Coastcare Association to assist in one of the volunteers groups local community based projects.

Broadly, this involved the rehabilitation of the flora on the sand dunes located on the Cottesloe beach foreshore (the end of Napier street). The team worked through the then heavily weed infested area by clearing out the dunes in order to plant a variety of different plants native to the Cottesloe area. As a result, the ecosystem in this area was given a strong opportunity to being restored through the groups strong teamwork and work ethic. From those ripping out weeds, to digging holes, planting and watering, it was a true team effort.

Overall the day was a great opportunity for the team from PwC to get there hands dirty and give something back to the broader community. By working in tandem with the Cottesloe Coastcare group, it just goes to show what you can achieve in a team driven with real passion, belief and a hunger for change.

Thanks to Kate, Robyn and the team at Cottesloe Coastcare for giving us the chance to take part in the day, it was greatly enjoyed by all.”
