Coast saltbush

Plant description

A silver-grey plant to 2 m high with a scaly leaf surface. Growing on primary dunes this plant copes well with strong light, shifting sand, salt and wind. The male and female flowers are on the same or separate plants. Larvae of a butterfly, the saltbush blue, feed on various saltbushes.
