Dutch Inn weeding and wooden clogs

Sunday’s hot weather did not stop a small team of Coastcarers from attacking the weeds at Dutch Inn. We were glad to have some extra help from our local Bunnings store as well as UWA volunteers.

And the ospreys came too….

45 people and 4 ospreys joined us for our Heritage Walk at Mudurup Rocks on Saturday April 20th.

Sea monsters, breweries, typhoid and our AGM!

Did you know that: a “sea monster” washed up on Cottesloe beach in 1931; that Aitken’s brewery opened in South Cottesloe in 1897; and seven people caught typhoid after drinking milk from a Cottesloe dairy?

Foundation Day

Last week WA celebrated  Foundation Day commemorating the arrival of the first European settlers in WA in 1829. From an early time people, animals and the weather made their mark on the coast at Cottesloe. Robyn’s  The Goats of Grant Marine Park tells the story of one such interaction….
