Plant description

A tree or shrub that can grow to 5 m high on sand or limestone cliffs. Some wind and salt pruned plants are very small. The flower spikes have a pleasant scent and the purple buds open into white stamens. The flowers attract many native bees, wasps, butterflies and beetles.
