A serious perennial weed of the Iris family. Spreading rapidly in Cottesloe. Native to South Africa. It is spread by corms, seeds and rhizomes. The lower leaves are sword shaped. Flowering in spring, the black ruffled flowers are carrion scented which attract flies.
