Priority: Low

A perennial grass, growing to 1.3m tall which was introduced from Europe to stabilise dunes. It has been used successfully and disappears as other species grow higher up the stabilised dune. The leaves are stiff with rolled in margins and sharp points. Inflorescences are erect narrow spikes, greenish or straw coloured.
